Something Finished

I know it's not much, but with careful camera placement I was able to capture a shot that shows only finished surfaces.

And one with our cool retro phone. Stay tuned for more...

  1. Had to laugh at this post. It really is all about camera placement, isn't it? I hear ya on this ;-)

    Looks very nice, btw.

  2. Joe, it's looking good!

The first thing I noticed is that you didn't just chop off the end of the base shoe with a 90 degree cut, like I see done everywhere these days. The extra time you've put in really shows. Keep it up!

  4. Your kitchen's really looking great. How do you like the Marmoleum click? Was it easier than the hex tile to install? We're working on our 1925 kitchen and trying to decide between the click and hex tile on the floor. The floor store says we're nuts to to hex on the floor but hasn't sold any of the click yet. Any tips?

  5. I actually paid to have the hex tiles installed on the counters, but I was there during the installation and I saw first-hand what a pain it was to cut the sheets, as well as getting the pattern lined up. It's very easy to get the pattern off by 1 tile when laying the 12x12 sheets. If you go that route, make sure you look at the pattern from at least 3 angles while the mortar is still wet.

The Marmoleum on the other hand, was very easy to install. If a main concern is ease of installation, the Marmoleum Click wins hands-down.

  7. I got the tiles from my local Colortile. I think they are American Olean.
