Plate Rail Installed

Most of the wood is up in the first corner. The only thing left is the beading on the right panel and then finish priming and painting.

A little more detail.

I love it when the pieces line up with the layout marks!

Really nice work. I'd love to put up wainscoting and plate rail in my dining room someday.

Looking good! :-)

Where did you pick up the plate rail molding? It looks a lot like the crown I'm trying to replicate around the house!

I'd like to see a shot looking down - to see how you worked that return around the curved edge of the door casing. Nice work!

Dawn: I got all of the moulding for the dining room at Rejuvenation. I'll do another post later with all of the item numbers. (I don't have their catalog with me at work)

Monster: I'll take a picture from that angle when I have it painted. All I did was cut the length of the piece so it ends at the centerline of the door casing, cut and glue the return, and then I used a jigsaw to notch out for the casing. It turned out to be the easiest part of putting up that plate rail!
