3rd Annual Bungalow Blog Tour

Rare Archival Footage Unearthed!

I was able to find and upload a walkthrough of the 'Ol 1916 Portland Bungalow that our Realtor shot for us before we moved in.  I was able to come out to Portland from Houston, but my wife was not, so this video is the only thing she saw of the house before we bought it!

It's kinda long, but I thought you might enjoy it.  I can't believe how many things I see in the video that I totally forgot I had ripped out long ago (crappy old mailbox, toilet, dining room light fixture, etc.)

  1. Oh, I can't imagine buying a house and moving across the country with only a 15-minute video tour! Thanks for sharing. Like you, I used pre-sale photos in my post for the tour, too. Cheers!

  2. Fun to watch! I wish I had something similar for my house...just to see all of the things that have changed. Thanks for joining the Tour again this year!

  3. Cool walkthrough, thanks -- wish I had something like this when we first saw our house. Unfortunately that was prior to me moving into the digital age..

  4. I loved the video :) Your house on the exterior reminds me of my own, but the inside is so much different! I loved the video :) Thanks for the tour.

  5. The video is just awesome. I regret I didn't do this with ours. Scenes of me and my reactions while tearing up three layers of urine-caked carpeting would have been worth capturing as well.

  6. Oh no, your realtor hit her head on the dining room light. I know how she feels! I knocked my head on ours for weeks until we moved a table in! Our first floor has almost the exact same layout. Is the room off the back of your kitchen original? We have a porch that was adding in the 80s in the same place. Your house looks great! I really like the leaded glass built ins in the living room and dinging room.

  7. Mike,

That back room was an addition, probably done in the 80's as well. Half of it is taken up by a hot tub, so it is known as the "Hot Tub Room". I plan on turning it into a sun porch at some point.
